Message Detail:
Hi Geraldine, Made a message of sending the message last night, put in your name and e.mail address instead of my own by mistake. Hope this will make sense of it. Regards, Angela.Hello Geraldine,
Picked up your message. I don't think I can be of any help to you. I have tracked down birth records for my great, great, grandmother. She was born in 1812 to a John Meagher and a Mary Costelloe and is registered in the Fethard parish records. Also registered to the same parents are a John Meagher born 1814, a Maryanne Meagher born 1815, a James Meagher born 1821 and a Dan Meagher born 1824. I do not know anything about any of these except my great, great grandmother Ellen Meaghher. She married a Godfrey J. Greene sometime before 1831 as their first child was born in 1831. I have been unable to find where this marriage is recorded as it is not in the Fethard records. This Ellen Meagher died in 1845 and has a plaque erected to her in the Abbey church in Fethard. I would love to know if any of her brothers or sister married and if they had families. One of her brothers was a priest, I do not know which one and at the time of Ellen's death in 1845 he was a curate in Templemore.

I dont think any of this helps you in your search for your grandfather.

Regards,
Angela. font color="brown">Hello Angela
I have read your mail and thought i would give you this information.
I am searching for information on my grandfather Michael Meagher, born around the area of Templehill, Templemore, Tipperary on or around 17th march 1911.
We believe his father was called john Meagher but as yet we don not know the mothers name although an Elle in the family has been talked about.
He was married in Birmingham to rose McCann, a belfast woman and they had three sons Michael óg, John (my dad) and charles.
He was either a Royal Artillery or Royal Engineer in the Second World war and on his return home did not stay with my grand mother. He returned home from just outside Birmingham in 1987. We have been searching for Michael for 50 years. Any, any information would be graciouly received.
Michael's mother may have been called Stapleton .
If there are any Michaels in the family please let me know.
Many thanks.
Gearóidín
