Delighted to get your email.That is indeed Margaret.What hard times Margaret and my Mother endured in those days.Pat can you email your address to me and we can exchange so much information about the old Fethard.Little Annette was a beautiul child with a mass of curly blond hair,she visit my mother just two doors from Margaret nearly every day,Pat We can write a book about the terrible had times those people endured,thats why we left Fethard,in the first place.Margaret and myself went to some of the dances in those days which were in Fethard.My sister Margaret remembers Margaret so well and my Brother Sean also remembers her so well.My Mother really missed Margaret when she went to Wales.Do you remember when the so called caring people of Fethard collected for Margaret after David died,and bought her a Knitting Machine what an uproar when she had to sell it,Margaret could not even afford the knitting wool,she had 3 children to feed at that time,Margaret done right to get out of Fethard in those days,we done our best to get our Mother to England but she went back to Rocklow Road,My Mother had a brother living at Rathvin,but all he seemed to do in those days is shout shout about things but never helped my Mother.Pat when you get in touch with Margaret give her our love and we have often talked about her and Dave and the Children.We are having friends coming this week from wales Bridgend to stay for 6 weeks.We had some of the Rugby boys staying with us they were great,we often get Irish Nurses staying with us,my cousin Teresa Kelly who lives at Rathvin one of her Daughters stayed with us along with 3 other Irish Nurses not that long ago.Pat keep in touch and if you have an email address please send it to me.I phoned my Sister in Melbourne this morning she was delighted we made contact,My Poor mother lived at rocklow rd,for 30 years,a long story Pat I am sure you will be quite shocked how those people were treated in those days.I saw my Mother been hit in the back with a rock by the Foxy Bucky Ryan which we called him in those days,she suffered all her life with back problems after that.I was to young to understand at the time.She went from Farmer to Farmer until my sister Margaret bought her that house on Rocklow Road,and to see him on the Fethard News is just shocking.Pat get in touch and we can have a great exchange of news about the real Fethard and the terrible proverty those people suffered.No one knows Fethard like we do.Do you remember Alice Wall she was a good soul,AND as for Cannon Ryan he never had time for poor people.Stacey Lahey lived next door to Margaret and my Mother,I believe Peggy lives in the Green thats another story.Well Pat say hello to Margaret,and I will look forward to hearing from you.
