most of the best horses in the world have their roots in fethard and fethard has within a ten mile radius many excellent horse trainers, Aiden O' Brien, Edward o'Grady, Aiden Kennedy,Tomand o Mara, Micheal "mouse" Morris and a countless number of sucessul permit holders. While been fully aware of Clonmel being the nearest race course and only eight miles away, I belive strongly in the idea of an allweather race course been built in Fethard, there can only be a demand for it, the infastructure is there along with the demand. It would be a massive source of revenue for the town and the history is there, remember Giants Causeway's heroic defeat in the breeders cup on only his second time on that surface, what would he have been like if he had have been brought up to run on that surface. its comman knowlage that there is an over-demand for races and this could supplement some of the best pedigrees in the world.
