Fethard has many things going for it that other towns don't. For example it has both primary and secondary schools. The class sizes and number and pupils attending the schools in Fethard have decreased and if they continue to decrease at the rate they have in the past 15 or so years since I have left school in Fethard, it will be only a matter of time before there won't be a population to justify having any schools at all in Fethard.

As for activites for keeping young out of harms way,there's 40+ clubs and societies in the Town. Fethard has more to offer that most towns, there's a variety of sports clubs, girl guides, scouts, dancing, community games etc, of which many of these clubs/organisations are crying out for new members.

I would argue that the town could do with maybe a small supermarket (of similar size to an ADLI or Lidl), if all the houses were to be built.

I wouldn't image that all houses would be built over night. Generally speaking the maximum an average developer in Tipperary would build in a year would between 30-40 houses.

Of course one advantage of the preparation of a masterplan is that it ensures some order to the development and allows for forward planning of infrastructure etc, rather a hit and miss approach which has happened in a number of other towns/villages in the county.
